Sips & Scribbles #7

Every day is a chance to care for yourself—one small step at a time.

It’s been one week of Sips & Scribbles, and it’s been a week of valuable discoveries. I’ve learned that it’s the small, intentional moments of self-care that truly make a difference. Self-care doesn’t need to be extravagant—it just needs to be genuine and in the moment. I’ve realized it’s okay to rest and take time for myself without feeling guilty. Ultimately, self-care is about being present and fully enjoying those moments.

Today's Sips & Scribbles:

Sips of Self-Care ☕️

I spent the evening unwinding with my audiobook, truly enjoying the moment of relaxation.

Scribbles of Gratitude & Discovery ✍️

Taking the time to unwind with an audiobook has become a simple yet meaningful way for me to relax. I’m thankful for the resources that make it possible, like the Libby app and public libraries, and I look forward to continuing this journey of intentional self-care and discovery.

Sips of Self-Care ☕️

Sleep doesn’t always come easy, but I’m making an effort to listen to my body and plan for the rest it needs. It’s a key part of self-care, and I’m reminding myself that rest is just as important as everything else on my list.

Scribbles of Gratitude & Discovery ✍️

I never knew how comforting my small weighted blanket could be until I started focusing on getting enough sleep each night. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference, and I’m grateful for the calm it brings.

Here’s to listening to what we need and appreciating the small comforts along the way.

Sips & Scribbles #5

Every day is a chance to care for yourself—one small step at a time.

Today's sips & scribbles—enjoy!

Sips of Self-Care ☕️

Sometimes, self-care is as simple as a hot shower. Today, I let the steam and warmth wash away the stress of the day, giving myself a few quiet moments to reset. It wasn’t fancy or complicated just a small act that helped me feel refreshed and ready to move forward.

Scribbles of Gratitude & Discovery ✍️

I’m grateful for the progress I’ve made in handling stress and anxiety. I’ve learned how to work through tough moments instead of letting them take over. It’s not always easy, but recognizing my own growth and knowing I have the tools to cope makes all the difference.

Here’s to showing up for ourselves, one small step at a time.

Sips & Scribbles #4

Every day is a chance to care for yourself—one small step at a time.

Today’s simple comforts that helped me relax and feel grateful.

Sips of Self-Care ☕️

Tonight, I made myself a cup of Sleepytime Tea and curled up under my weighted blanket. Hoping the tea and the gentle pressure from the blanket will work together to help me unwind and get a restful night’s sleep.

Earlier, I dove into an audiobook and let myself get lost in the story. An audiobook is always a great escape from the day's stresses and gives my mind a much-needed break.

Scribbles of Gratitude & Discovery ✍️

I'm really thankful for the flexibility in my work schedule that allowed me to take my mom to her doctor's appointment today.

Remember to embrace those small moments of self-care and gratitude each day.

Sips & Scribbles #3

Every day is a chance to care for yourself—one small step at a time.

Today, I embraced the small yet significant practices that keep me grounded and centered.

Sips of Self-Care ☕️

This morning, I permitted myself to linger in bed a bit longer than usual. Those extra moments of rest provided the rejuvenation I needed, reminding me that rest holds equal importance to productivity. Additionally, I achieved my hydration goal of 48 ounces of water, recognizing that these modest victories contribute to overall well-being over time.

Scribbles of Gratitude & Discovery ✍️

Writing has become a sanctuary for me, offering solace and clarity amid life's uncertainties. It alleviates my anxiety and organizes my thoughts, providing a profound sense of peace for which I am deeply grateful.

Through these experiences, I'm learning that self-care isn't about achieving perfection but about making intentional choices that nurture both mind and body. Here's to another day of sips and scribbles, embracing each small step on this ongoing journey.

Sips & Scribbles #2

Every day is a chance to care for yourself—one small step at a time.

Some days, self-care feels effortless. Other days, it’s a conscious decision—one that requires effort, intention, and a reminder that I deserve it. Today was one of those days, and I’m proud of the steps I took.

Sips of Self-Care ☕

Did you take care of yourself today? I did. And it felt good.

I drank 48 ounces of water, 16 more than yesterday! For someone who often forgets to drink water, that’s a huge win. Hydration is such a simple yet powerful way to care for my body, and I’m slowly learning to make it a priority.

Beyond that, I also took time for two guided meditations. Anxiety has a way of creeping in when I least expect it, but today, I made space to slow down, breathe, and release some of the tension I’ve been carrying. It reminded me that self-care isn’t always about big, luxurious gestures it’s about small, intentional moments that bring peace.

Scribbles of Gratitude & Discovery✍️

Today, my heart is filled with gratitude for the opportunities my son has to be involved in theatre, something he truly loves.

Watching him on stage, seeing his passion unfold in real time, and knowing he has found something that brings him so much joy makes my heart happy. Theatre has given him a space to express himself, to grow, to shine. And as a mom, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing your child fully embrace something they love.

Sips & Scribbles #1

Every day is a chance to care for yourself—one small step at a time.

Self-care isn’t always about grand gestures. Sometimes, it’s the small, everyday moments that make the biggest difference. The little actions we take to care for ourselves add up over time, creating space for gratitude, reflection, and growth. Today, I took a moment to slow down, breathe, and appreciate the simple joys of life. Here’s a glimpse into my day of self-care and gratitude.

Sips of Self-Care ☕

Did you take care of yourself today? I did. And honestly, that’s not always something I can say.

I drank 32 ounces of water—such a huge win for me since water is usually an afterthought. It felt good, like a small promise kept to myself. I took deep breaths, reminded myself not to let people get under my skin, and allowed space for calm instead of frustration. And, as always, I carved out time for my audiobook—a simple but powerful act of self-care. Those moments, lost in a story, are mine alone.

Some days, self-care is grand—spa days, getaways, indulgences. Other days, it’s this: water, deep breaths, and a little time to just be. And today, that was enough.

Scribbles of Gratitude & Discovery ✍️

Today, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for my kids.

My daughter is confident, self-sufficient, and full of life. She takes care of herself, her kids, and everything in between, all while still knowing how to have fun. She is a better version of me, and as a mother, what more could I want? That’s the dream to raise children who surpass us, who live fully and fearlessly.

And then there’s my theater-loving, movie-obsessed son. Because of him, I see stories in a whole new way. Watching him on stage or just sitting beside him in the audience fills my heart in ways I never expected. It’s our thing, our bond, and I hope it lasts forever.

What small moments of self-care or gratitude did you find today?

Why Sips & Scribbles

The name itself represents two essential parts of my journey:

☕ Sips – A reminder to pause. To nourish my body. To take care of myself in the ways that matter, whether that’s drinking more water, setting boundaries, or allowing myself to rest. It’s about the little habits that make a big difference.

✍️ Scribbles – A place to reflect. To acknowledge the lessons, the joys, and the moments that bring gratitude. For the last year, writing has been a way for me to process life, and through these scribbles, I have capture the things that truly matter and hope to continue doing so.

What You’ll Find Here

This blog isn’t about grand, Instagram-worthy self-care routines or perfectly curated gratitude journals. It’s about the real, everyday moments—the ones that often go unnoticed but deserve to be recognized.

Here, I’ll share:

  • Sips of Self-Care – The small yet meaningful ways I’m taking care of myself each day, whether it’s drinking more water, practicing mindfulness, or simply carving out time for things that bring me joy.

  • Scribbles of Gratitude & Discovery – Reflections on what I’m grateful for, the lessons I’m learning, and the experiences that shape me. Gratitude isn’t just about the big moments; it’s about appreciating the little things, too.

A Space for Progress, Not Perfection

I’m not perfect at this, and I don’t expect to be. Some days, self-care is easy. Other days, it feels like a struggle. But that’s okay. Sips & Scribbles isn’t about getting it right all the time—it’s about trying, about showing up for myself, and about finding joy in the process.

I hope this space inspires you to do the same. To take those small steps. To celebrate your wins, no matter how small. To find gratitude in unexpected places.

So grab your favorite drink, take a deep breath, and join me on this journey. One sip, one scribble, one day at a time.

Welcome to Sips and Scribbles

A year ago, I started journaling, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made for my well-being. At the time, I was nursing a broken heart, and writing became my outlet. At first, my journal was filled with memories of us—a mix of nostalgia and heartache. To make it feel lighter, I even had ChatGPT turn my thoughts into fictional stories with characters. It was fun, a creative distraction, but eventually, I realized I was just reliving the past instead of moving forward.

So, I shifted my focus. Instead of writing about what was, I started journaling about my daily life—what I did, how I felt, the little victories, and the tough moments. It became my nightly ritual, a way to reflect, process my emotions, and let go of the day.

I kept going—through spring, summer, fall, and into the new year. Now, I have a journal for every month, and looking back, I can see how much I’ve grown. A year ago, my heart felt broken. Today, I feel stronger, more grounded, and grateful for the healing that came with putting pen to paper.

That’s how Sips and Scribbles was born. A space to share this journey, to reflect, and to embrace whatever comes next. I don’t know what the next year will bring, but I’m excited to find out. Here’s to another year of growth, self-discovery, and plenty of pages to fill.

Cheers to the journey ahead!
