A year ago, I started journaling, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made for my well-being. At the time, I was nursing a broken heart, and writing became my outlet. At first, my journal was filled with memories of us—a mix of nostalgia and heartache. To make it feel lighter, I even had ChatGPT turn my thoughts into fictional stories with characters. It was fun, a creative distraction, but eventually, I realized I was just reliving the past instead of moving forward.
So, I shifted my focus. Instead of writing about what was, I started journaling about my daily life—what I did, how I felt, the little victories, and the tough moments. It became my nightly ritual, a way to reflect, process my emotions, and let go of the day.
I kept going—through spring, summer, fall, and into the new year. Now, I have a journal for every month, and looking back, I can see how much I’ve grown. A year ago, my heart felt broken. Today, I feel stronger, more grounded, and grateful for the healing that came with putting pen to paper.
That’s how Sips and Scribbles was born. A space to share this journey, to reflect, and to embrace whatever comes next. I don’t know what the next year will bring, but I’m excited to find out. Here’s to another year of growth, self-discovery, and plenty of pages to fill.
Cheers to the journey ahead!
